Surrey Training Group Meeting – March 2024

On Thursday 28th March, we held our first Surrey Training Group meeting of the year with the theme of Apprenticeships. We welcomed our members back to our CISTC training Centre at Natta Head Office.

David Vyse, Group Training Officer for Surrey Training Group, began the meeting with an introduction. He then opened the floor for new people to introduce themselves. Our guest speaker, Liz Steele from CITB, shared the latest news and updates for quarter 2 including the future needs of the industry. CITB are the construction industry training board in England and it’s their job to support the construction industry to attract talent and support skill development.

About Multi Trades Training Ltd

After a coffee break, there was a presentation from Rob Jones, Director of Multi Trades Training Ltd. Rob briefed them on his company and explained the construction training they supply. As well as on-site apprenticeship training, they offer fast track CSCS and CPCS NVQ courses for all levels. He believes in delivering high quality training to support their apprentices. This enables them to gain the skills and experience they need to succeed in the construction industry.

After Rob’s presentation, the group went inside his mobile training workshop van. These offer on-site workshops fully equipped with the necessary tools and materials to give you hands-on experience and practical training. Multi Trades Training believe learning should be accessible and convenient. They enable this by offering on-site training so you don’t have to take time off work or travel to college.

Surrey Training Group Officer David commented “It was great to get everyone along to discuss how we can promote apprenticeships within the construction industry. With the skill shortage increasing year on year, it’s important that as an industry we keep training those looking for a career in construction.”
