Surrey Training Group – Meeting 21st September 2017

Yesterday we had our first official meeting in our amazing new Training and Wellbeing Centre at the Natta Group Head Office. We were delighted to see so many members in attendance (and enjoying the breakfast laid on), as well as some new faces.

The Format

The meeting included a talk by Toni Gray, Group Training Officer for the Surrey Training Group. She covered some really interesting and up-to-date industry news, surrounding construction training. Toni also discussed how employees training records are stored and accessed. This change will be taking effect from April 2018. We will keep you up to date with all the changes going forward at our meetings.

CITB Grants and Funding

Amy Denver from CITB then presented a very comprehensive talk about CITB Grants and Funding. We know that this can be a confusing area. We wish to give a huge thanks to Amy, we are now all better informed on how we can use Grants successfully within our businesses.

Our members then took part in a group discussion talking over issues around recruitment and Health & Safety. This session was chaired by Natta’s MD John Whelan, who shared his insight into how Natta deals with issues in these areas. It was great to see so many different companies large and small all collaborating together giving each other ideas to help improve best practice.
